Syria prepares final push

SYRIAN forces, along with its Lebanese Hezbollah allies, are deploying around what’s left of the rebel-held enclave in Aleppo, following a big push that drove the terror gangs out of a huge chunk of rebel-held neighbourhoods in the city. Many believe this is in preparation for a final push to end the siege and restore full government control over Aleppo city.

Care for the elderly facing collapse

THE FUNDING for care for the elderly is facing a perfect storm of Government cuts to local authority funding, rising costs and restrictions to NHS funding according to senior doctors and submissions from all the major political parties in local government. They warn that the system is very close to collapse and that the safety of millions of elderly people is at risk.

Fidel’s spirit lives on

WE WERE saddened to hear of the passing of Fidel Castro, the leader of the Cuban revolution, last week.

Fidel led the revolution that freed Cuba from oppression and US neo-colonial slavery to build a new socialist life of prosperity and happiness for the people on the island. Fidel made an important contribution to modern communist theory. He was also an astute statesman who led the Cuban people through thick and thin to withstand US imperialism’s campaign of sabotage, terrorism and blockade and overcome the US-led campaign of diplomatic isolation.

Victory in Aleppo

THE SYRIAN Arab Army has made sweeping gains in Aleppo this week driving the NATO-backed gunmen out of almost half of the enclave they’ve terrorised for the best part of four years.

The response of the war-lobby in Parliament has been to step up its demands for direct imperialist intervention to bail out the rebels who have been less than covertly armed and funded by NATO and the feudal Arab oil kings to overthrow the popular front government in Damascus.
