LABOUR conference in Brighton this week has been a triumph for Jeremy Corbyn and his supporters. They have transformed the annual conference into a genuine policy-making body involving members at all levels instead of the mesmerising rant of Blairite leaders who kept all the power to themselves.

Cab drivers welcome TfL ban on Uber

BLACK cab drivers in London who belong to the unions Unite and GMB last week praised the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and Transport for London (TfL) for putting the safety of Londoners ahead of big corporate interests by deciding not to renew Uber’s licence to operate in London.

Tories preparing to dump May

PRIME MINISTER Theresa May is sinking in a bottomless pit of misery of her own making and it shows on her face. As the Tory party conference approaches, even her closest allies are refusing to support her continued leadership.

Without a secure majority in the House of Commons May has no power to agree deals or to commit Britain or her party to anything. No foreign leaders want to do business with her or with British industry because they know there is no security behind her government.
