The Weekly paper of the New Communist Party of Britain
Week commencing 30th March 2018
We’re almost on the last lap with £709 in this week’s post pushing the running total to £1,790. That means we need to raise another £1,710 to hit the target for March and we’ve only got the bank holiday weekend to do it!
Many thanks to all who helped us on our way this week including the East Anglian comrades who raised £160 between them for the fighting fund. A Cardiff supporter topped up his sub renewal with an extra £30, a regular contributor from Essex donated £25 and a Hereford reader sent in £20 via PayPal. We need one more big push to ensure the continued survival of our communist weekly. Postage went up this week pushing up our overheads, including the New Worker mailings, which adds to our woes. Every week we have find the money to pay maintain our machines and computers and keep our suppliers happy. And every week the New Worker comes out with news and views from the communist and peace movement at home and overseas. The bourgeoisie are running scared. Their media is jam-packed with rehashed “Red Scare” stories and smears against the Corbynistas who they fear will add a few bob on income tax and force them to disgorge a fraction more of their plunder to maintain our cashed-strapped schools and hospitals. Let’s hope so!
In the meantime we’ve got a job to do in putting the communist answer to the crisis back on the agenda throughout the labour movement. Every pound helps us maintain and expand the readership of the New Worker in the estates, factories and offices throughout Britain. Speed the day! Send your donations to the New Worker Fund, PO Box 73, London SW11 2PQ. Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to the New Worker.
