The final week of March brought in £942 giving us a grand total of £2,808. But we sadly missed our £3,500 target with a shortfall of £692. The April appeal begins now so lets redouble our fund-raising efforts to make sure the New Worker lives to fight another day!
Getting the New Worker out on the street needs time and money and we can only rely on ourselves to find them. We must put socialism back on the agenda throughout the labour movement. There is a way out of the capitalist crisis. It’s socialism and we see it work in China, Cuba, Democratic Korea and the other people’s democracies in Asia. People’s power doesn’t begin and end with the sham debates in the Westminster Parliament or the bogus American Congress where poli- ticians are bought and sold by the vested interests that run the country. No – real democracy is mass democracy where working people are in charge and unemployment and poverty is unknown. The New Worker, is a window to that world which is working for a better tomorrow for everyone.
