The Fighting Fund

First of all, let’s give a warm welcome to our new readers and a welcome back to old friends who’ve recently returned to support our communist weekly. We’ll keep up the fight for peace and socialism for as long as it takes. But we need money. Money for the fighting fund to pay our bills, keep our suppliers sweet and help us build the readership of the New Worker.

This month’s appeal has kicked off with £430 in the bag that includes £32 from a Suffolk reader and a tenner from another in Devon. We now need £3,070 to hit our target for May.

The spirit of rebellion is once again sweeping through the heartlands of imperialism. Students are challenging bourgeois mind control in the occupations and Gaza peace camps that are springing up across academia in the Western world. Workers young and old are joining them in the struggle to restore the legitimate rights of the Palestinian Arabs and end the carnage in Gaza.

People’s China, Russia and most of the Global South are demanding an end to the fighting. This is echoed throughout the world by the millions upon millions on the street calling for justice for the Palestinians. Only one thing stands in their way. American imperialism.

We support the national liberation movements. We fight for peace and socialism. Something the bourgeois and social-democratic politicians never talk about. We know there’s an answer to the crisis of end-game capitalism – and that’s socialism. Help us put it back on the workers’ agenda by supporting the New Worker!
