The Fighting Fund

We received £403 this week pushing the October appeal up to £1,603. But remember, our fighting fund target in £3,500 per month and we’ve only got a couple of weeks to hit it!

The police raided the home of another Palestinian solidarity activist last week. Mob-handed “counter-terrorist” police arrived in the early hours at the London home of Asa Winstanley, the associate editor of the Electronic Intifada, armed with warrants to search the house. Though they seized several electronic devices Winstanley was not arrested and he has not been charged with any offence. Whether he gets his equipment back is another matter.

The police raid appears to be the latest use by British authorities of repres sive ‘counter-terrorism’ legislation to crack down on journalists and activists involved in reporting on or protesting Israel’s crimes, including its ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip. This is what we’re up against. This is why the New Worker must keep going!
