We received £591 this week, pushing the October appeal up to £2,194 thanks to a Dagenham comrade who gave us £300 and another from north Wales who sent in £200, while a veteran Essex supporter donated £50 and another Dagenham supporter gave us £5.50. We now need £1,306 to hit our monthly target and we’ve only one more campaigning week to hit it!
Robbing the poor to help the rich is what the Tories are all about, although they usually try to cloak their bourgeois greed with the Union Jack and pious platitudes that come naturally to people of their class and education. Labour, on the other hand, talks about the mythical “hard-working families” they claim to serve while doing little or nothing to close the poverty gap or end homelessness!
But there is an answer to the crisis – and that is socialism. We’ve got to get that back on the working class agenda. This is why the New Worker must keep going!
