The August appeal has begun with £1,026 in the bag thanks to a veteran Suffolk communist who donated £500 and a bequest of £125 from the will of a long-time reader in Yorkshire. Many of our standing orders kick in at the beginning of the month, and other contributions to the fighting fund include a tenner from a supporter in Hull and a score from another in Dagenham. We now need £2,474 by the end of the month to hit our target.
