Labour leap in opinion polls

LATEST opinion polls report a surge in popularity for Labour, who now have a 10-point lead over the Conservatives according to a YouGov/Sun poll published on Wednesday, which gives Conservative support at 33 per cent, Labour at 43 per cent and the Liberal Democrats at nine per cent.

Syria accepts new peace plan

THE SYRIAN government has accepted the six-point peace plan presented by the United Nations and Arab League Special Envoy, Kofi Annan, following a unanimous call from the UN Security Council on all political forces in Syria to support the Annan initiative.
